Workplace managers and supervisors gain access to our clinical and organisationally-trained psychologists for support dealing with the mental health, resilience and wellbeing of their employees. Our MAP provides vital support for issues ranging from managing difficult behaviours, performance and stress management to organisational change and redundancy support.

What is a Manager Support and Assistance Program?

Our Manager Assistance Program (MAP), which forms part of the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), helps workplace managers and supervisors deal with issues, such as:

  • Concerns about an employee’s fitness for work
  • Performance management
  • Organisational change
  • Managing difficult behaviours
  • Retrenchment/redundancy/career transition
  • Workload
  • Stress management and work life integration
  • Enhancing resilience

As part of both the MAP and EAP, PeopleSense by Altius psychologists are available to employees 24 hours per day, 7 days a week for emergency situations, including critical incidents.

PeopleSense provides access to our most senior, experienced, registered psychologists who all have counselling, supervisory and consultancy experience. Sessions are usually 30-45 minutes in duration and follow up appointments are available with the same psychologist.

Our Approach to Manager Support and Assistance

Our approach is friendly, caring and focused on practical solutions. As a result of understanding the importance of dealing with issues as they arise, our psychologists offer swift availability for appointments and respond immediately to critical incidents and trauma, with in person face-to-face, telephone or virtual face-to-face appointments available.

We are proud of the close relationships we develop with our clients and customers – we take the time to understand and appreciate an organisation’s culture so that we can provide relevant advice and deliver tailored solutions to our clients.
