Our PeopleSense psychologists combine their expertise with evidence based assessment tools to provide reliable feedback on an a worker’s current capacity for work in relation to their cognitive and psychological abilities.

A Psychological Functional Capacity Assessment aims to provide the referrer with feedback on the worker’s capacity to attend work regularly, reliably and consistently, and to what extent the worker can undertake various tasks in terms of range, complexity and within what specific timeframes.

The assessment provides a detailed analysis of a person’s current abilities, cognitive and emotional functioning and translates the information into meaningful information related to a worker’s ability to engage in some type of work. The assessment also obtains information about a worker’s premorbid functioning, therefore assisting to determine the extent of psychological dysfunction specific to the individual and the compensable injury. This is particularly useful when workers may have had limitations to their pre-morbid psychological functioning.
